YO!!!
What a party.

Thanks to everyone who came out to show there love for Nazon.
I saw so many people I haven't seen in soooooooo long.

Big Up to Severe, Uncle Hek, Were, Ang13, Akbar, The X-Men, the Breakers, the MCs, the DJs, and everyone else who made it happen. Ya'll know how to throw a party.
It was a joyous celebration of Nazon's life, just how it should have been.

hash crew

memorial was beautiful...tho our boy kapri was put out for being drunk and unruly...(kool down dred)...the video wit kep talkin and paintin and ish had me cryin like a 2 year old...thanks to severe for putting that joint together...we raised about $1,100 or so for the family after all other expenses were paid back...christian, thanks for the $100 donation for the shirts...it'll come back to you...oh yeah, speakin of shirts, everyone who didn't get a shirt in the crew, holla at me...let me know what size you need n i'll try to get them out there for the show on the 2nd...a donation of $10 would b fresko...$5 for the nazon simmons fam and $5 to cover the printing and cost of shirt... hash crew

Silent Art Auction May 2nd.

All proceeds will go to the Families of Fausto Manzera, Andrew Cazares and Nazon "Kool Kep" Simmons.

We are looking for contributions of small artwork, no bigger than 8x10, for a silent auction that will take place in Chicago on Saturday, May 2nd. If you are interested in contributing, please respond to this or email upsetmagazine@gmail.com.

The deadline for artists to drop off work if you are in NYC is April 16th.
The deadline for artists to drop off work if you are in Chicago is April 28th.

Our sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of Fausto Manzera, Andrew Cazares and Kool Kep.

With the tragic loss of three people's lives in the Chicago writer community all at once, we were taken aback and like many of our Chicago homies, were not able to think of anything else except paying our respects and giving people time to heal. Hopefully we can raise some money to go towards the families who have to deal with this tragic loss.
